Straps: my new rubber ones

It is indeed a good day today as I received some of the straps I ordered. I have been looking for some good rubber/ silicon straps for sometime now and when the opportunity came about recently over at MWR forum, I grab the chance and ordered the straps. I wanted good strong straps as I wanted the straps to be mounted on one of my watch which is very heavy. You will see the watch later.

The strap I ordered measures 20 mm and 22 mm at the lug attachment points. Both the straps are thick rubber straps. The straps are plain black strap with minimal designs except for the profile at the side.

First the 20 mm strap. The top part of the strap (with the buckle) measures 80 mm and the lower strap measures 123 mm. It is 20 mm at the lug and profiles down to 19 mm. It is 6 mm thick at the lug attachment and it profiles down to 3 mm at the tip. However at the buckle end, there is a 'bulb' where the spring bar for the buckle goes in and that is 5 mm thick. The buckle hole is oblong.

The tip is pointed on the 20 mm strap as can be seen above. The buckle is polished and it is made from stainless steel, or at least that is what I think. It is unmarked, as is the strap.

Next, the 22 mm strap. The top part of the strap (with the buckle) measures 75 mm (shorter, why I don't know) and the lower strap measures a whopping 135 mm. It is 22 mm at the lug and profiles down to 20 mm. It is 6 mm thick at the lug attachment and it profiles down to 3 mm at the tip. However at the buckle end, there is a 'bulb' where the spring bar for the buckle goes in and that is 5 mm thick. The buckle hole is rectangular.

The tip is 'square' and the buckle is brushed stainless steel. The buckle is of the 'Panerai' design and it is unmarked. I like both the strap.

Now, why do I want such thick straps? Well I want to mount it on my Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph. The watch is a big and heavy watch and I want a strap that can match the watch. I found it in this strap. Just look at the photographs below. I just love these thick rubber strap. It gives me confidence that it will not break.

The 22 mm is fitted to the Longines Legend Diver. I originally had it on a Tropic strap, but decided to change it as well.

Looks good. I am indeed happy.

Now to wait for my Zulu straps.
