Oris has released a third Limited Edition watch based on the popular BC3 in the Air Racing III, reference 01 735 7641 4794-07 5 22 91B. Oris has partnered with the Swiss Air Racing team (again) for this watch. The dominant aspect of the watch is the minute hand that has been rendered in red and white zebra strips. This design is inspired by the speed limit indicator found on the fight instrument panel of airplanes. This is most important during Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flights.
The watch comes in at 42mm and is powered by the Oris caliber 735 (based on the Selita SW200). It has a 38 hour power reserve and water resistant to 10 ATM. The case is DLC Black and is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces. The other interesting aspect of the watch is the application of the luminous material. Not only are the hands and markers luminous, even the date and day are luminous. How cool is that. The watch is expected to retail for around USD 1,600.
