Aircraft Clocks

Since yesterday was a nice day, we as a family decided to visit the old street in Danshuei in Taipei. It is an interesting street filled with many small shops selling food and nick knacks. What was interesting for me was a small watch shop, so small you could miss it.

Inside the shop, I found these...

This is a dash mounted clock/ stopwatch. I believe the model reference is Sinn NaBo18 and I believe it is from the 70s. It has a rotating bezel, a 30 minute totalizer at 12, small seconds at 6 and a center mounted chronograph. It is powered by Caliber Sinn 555 (Remont 55).

Oh and also the owner use a camera lens filter as the case back to display the movement. That is not the original case back.

I believe this is a Waltham aircraft clock and I believe it is powered by the Caliber Waltham A-13A. I also think that there are parts missing e.g. the sweep second hand and the outer bezel (casing). I could be wrong.

The owner did not have much information other then there were aircraft clocks. Sadly these were not for sale. I always like to get one of these aircraft clocks.

An interesting outing indeed.
