Taking a break...

Taking a break from the daily grind, having a cuppa....

Since I am having hot chocolate, I don't get a biscotto. I guess the replacement is a tad hard.... :)

Anyhow, as I am sipping my chocolate, I was perusing this.... Which decided to follow me home.

Classic Wristwatches 2014-2015 The Price Guide for Vintage Watch Collectors. And no, I am not getting into vintage watches. I lack the necessary knowledge (and moolah)...

The index. Not bad in terms of brand coverage. Makes an interesting reference.

Some of the content...

There is a brief about the brands before they list the prices of the watches. To be honest? There are mistakes.... :(

Would I recommend the book? Yes, as at USD35, it makes an acceptable reference guide.

Tudor 79090

I never thought I would be able to see this watch again. The last time I saw this watch a long time ago. A single owner watch and have been worn since it was bought in the 1990s and have never been serviced.

The Tudor 79090 with my Polar.

A beautiful watch. I like the watch.

Still running strong.

Rolex case back and crown. :)

Still on its original folded bracelet.

A lovely patina has developed on the dial and hands.

The Watch Atelier...

Spotted this while I was fill in up my car with gasoline.

Food Exploring, Sagun

I am indeed a happy camper. Found a dessert that I use to have when I was a child, a long time ago (when dinosaurs ruled the Earth). It is called Sagun and it is popular among the Malays and the Peranakan (Straits Born Chinese). I can't even remember when I last had this dessert.

The Sagun or Sesagun or Sagun Sagun as it known.

It is basically grated coconut toasted or dry fried. It is then mixed with dry fried rice flour (option mixed with glutinous rice flour) and dry fried with sugar. The mix is then blended.

The Sagun on a spoon.

Closer view.

I am indeed happy. I could finish the entire bottle in one sitting.

Happy Birthday Mr. Lange

Today is Mr. Ferdinand Adolph Lange's 200th birthday. Happy Birthday Mr. Lange. As such, it is only fitting to have a small GTG with a Lange present.

Two Explorer II with the Lange 1 Moonphase.

The two Explorer II ......

I have to say that I do like the new Explorer II or Polar42. More so with my aging eyes. :) If my Polar did not come with the 3186 movement, I would likely trade in my Polar for the Polar 42....
