Omega The Commander's Watch

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the movie "Tomorrow Never Dies", Omega has issued a new watch. The new watch is the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Commander's Watch and it will be a limited edition watch. The watch will celebrate Commanber Bond's military past and the Royal Navy colours.

From Omega's website...

"Cased in stainless steel and with a polished white ceramic dial, the "Commander's Watch" features facetted blued skeleton hour-minute hands and varnished red second hand with “007” gun logo counterweight.

The wave-pattern screw-in caseback is engraved with Commander’s Watch, Limited Edition and the limited edition number. The see-through caseback reveals a rotor with 9mm bullet and decorative plate bearing the 007 and OMEGA logo, as well as the Calibre number.

It is presented on a 5-stripe blue, red & grey polyamide Nato Strap; and powered by the exclusive OMEGA Calibre 2507.
The Commander's watch is limited to 7,007 pieces.

The watch does come with a very interesting packaging...

Shopping in Taipei

I was out with the kids for a quick lunch in Ximending (popular shopping area in Taipei) when we came across a Miniso. The kids wanted to go in to get some things, so we decided to check it out.

What I found...

Interesting collection of kids watches..

Some of the adult watches.. design similar to a popular brand.

The usual suspects of clocks..

On the way back to the car, we saw this shop and I had a look.

Interesting collection of watches...

AP...

The TAG Connect. I believe this is the new model.

Omega watches.

Sadly I was short of time. Definitely worth another visit.

Rolex Cerachrom

On the Rolex website, the Rolex Cerahrom is quoted as

"..fashioned from extremely hard ceramic material, it is virtually impervious to scratches.."

It is key word is 'virtually'...

Rolex Sub Date. Used lovingly for the past 5 years, daily wear, daily beater.

Scratched at the 11 o'clock bezel marker.

This watch has been used a daily beater and have seen it all. Desk diving, traveling, been on planes, train and automobiles and even the occasional ships.

Truth be told, had it been the normal bezel, there would have been more scratches, a testament to how tough the Cerachrom is.
