I saw this TVC (TV Commercial) some time back and have been trying (OK, admittedly not very hard) to find it. Finally found it. Thought I share it. 

The TVC is an Omega ad on the Omega Co-Axial Chronometer movement. Pretty cool .

The Blue Danube

I have to say a big thank you to the guys at Grieb and Benzinger for sharing this video. I have to say that what they they do is just awesome. Bringing back to life a 120 year movement, made by Patek for Tiffany in a new watch is just wonderful.

The watch, The Blue Danube is a once off (as are other Grieb and Benzinger timepieces) and feats an old vintage movement that has been rested and restored, replaced (if necessary) and finally modified with hand-skeletonized and finished in rose gold or rhodium. The end product, The Blue Danube, a Skeleton Minute Repeater Split-Seconds Chronograph watch.

I like the part where one of the presenter made fun of his watch, which I suspect is a Swatch. I guess he did not know that the Blum Collection of Swatch watches just went off the block for about USD 6.6 million to a single Chinese collector.

Swatch Black Rebel

I was on a short (over the weekend) local holiday with the family when I spotted this watch at the Swatch Shop. It was the Swatch Black Rebel. This is part of the new Gents True Colour collection from Swatch. The Black Rebel, reference SUOB702, is very interesting in its is all black save the crown. The crown is polished steel. Everything else is black. The dial is sun burst black, the hands, black (not sure if it has the black luminous material, but was told that it has what is called Glow Glow Black), the day and date is black on black. The strap is black, well you get the picture.

I hesitated buying the watch, saying I will think about it. After dinner, I decided to get the watch. A short stroll to the shop and alas, the watch has been sold. Even the display watch was sold. Two watches in a span of 3 hours. Sigh. Looks like I have to bring the search closer to home here in Taipei.
