Pinion Clock Mobile App

It has been sometime since I last wrote about applications for the iPhone or iPad. Well, the following application is available on both platform, iOS and Android. It is the Pinion Clock mobile app. 

The application is free and it shows timekeeping with the watch from Pinion Watch Company as the base clock. The application features the following:

Time: displayed via hours, minutes and seconds

Date

Power Reserve: This actually shows the battery life of the device. That is cool...

GMT function: The arrow on the bezel shows GMT

Day and Night modes

Pinion Watch Company have indicated that more features will be made available on the next iteration of the application.

IWC Watch International

For those with the iPad can subscribe for free the IWC Watch International magazine. The magazine is published 4 times a year. The iPad edition is interactive and has the same content as the hard copy available at IWC Boutiques. Back edition is also available for down load.

Panerai iPad apps

It is great that Panerai has updated its iPad apps. The Panerai iPad application features its 2012 novelties in addition to its normal catalogue. At least some of the watches in the updated apps does not look likes it has been cut and pasted. The application is sleek and is an interactive catalogue with technical details, videos and audio and a host of other cool features. My favourite? The working home screen showing the time.

Panerai Catalogue

Panerai has a cool catalogue for iPad. It is available on the iTunes store. Check it out as it is a cool application. I like it (but I am biased). It is also free. 

It features a home page that shows the current time via the soon to available PAM00372. The PAM00372 is of course the 'hottest' Panerai in the 2011 model release. 

The thing I like about the application is that it is easy to navigate. It has 4 main section:

Home - shows the current time

History - showing major milestone in Panerai history

Catalogue - a very interactive section showing the current models available. It is divided into sections, Historical, Contemporary, Specialities, Special Editions and All. There are things like specifications, videos and images in these section. 

Movements - as with the Catalogue tab, this section is equally interactive. It is divided into 3 section, Hand-Wound, Automatic and All.

The last tab is the credits tab.

Omega Lifetime Digital magazine

How cool is this, the Omega Lifetime magazine is available free for those who has the iPad. The digital edition of the magazine has the same content as the print version but with enhanced interactive features. It is easy to navigate. I know, I downloaded it. The experience is just awesome. There are videos, stunning photographs, short films, illustrations, interviews and many many more. 

Currently Issue 6 2010 and Issue 7 2011 are available for download. The application is available on iTunes and here is a video or trailer of the application.

Hamilton iPad World Time application

Hamilton has launched an application for the iPad. I was looking for a world time application for the iPad when I found this application. It is available free from Hamilton. The  application is (I believe) in Spanish. But it is not a problem as I only need the world time display.

The main display. There are 6 watches displaying the world time. You can't change the watches as they are fixed. The watches are the Jazzmaster Slim, the Ventura, the Khaki Field, the Railroad, the Pulsomatic (which I was so tempted to get when I was in Japan) and the Khaki X-Landing.

The cities display are also fixed, one city per time zone. All together, there are 24 cities to choose from. 

You can also view a timeline of Hamilton history in the application.

You can also read about the watches used to display the world time. Just click on the 'i' button and the watch specifications is displayed. In the photograph below, you can read all about the Jazzmaster Slim watch.
