Battery change Precista W10...

Time to change the battery on my Precista W10 watch. The last time I changed the battery was in 2014.

My Precista 6BB from 1984. 

We will need to remove the grey NATO strap. But first we will need to prepare for the battery change.

The coin is to open the battery access cover so that we can change the battery.

Remove the NATO strap. It is best to completely remove the strap. 

The case back. You can see the battery cover at the 12 o'clock position.

Insert the coin and turn anti-clockwise to open.

The under side of the cover. You will need to be careful not to lose the spacer on the inside of the cover. If you lose this, the watch will not work.

Battery ready to be removed. Do not use metal tweezers to remove the battery. You do not want to short out the motherboard.

The new battery. I have not seen this battery before. It is made by Seiko. It is the SR927SW battery. 

The old battery, removed.

Clean and inspect before installing the new battery. You can just make out the module reference inside the access hole. The movement is the ETA/ ESA 555.115 or 955.112.

New battery in. As usual, check the watch is working before closing the cover. Do not forget to lubricate the gaskets. 

All done. :)

More battery change...

As can be seen from the video, the EOL indicator on my Precista W10 watch has been activated. Time for a visit to the friendly neighborhood watch guy...

The battery is the SR927 battery or its equivalent.

It is time for battery change..... This time it is my Precista W10 watch. This is not a detail step by step procedure. You can see some of the steps here...

The basic steps are the same. :)

My Precista 6bb watch.

Remove the NATO strap.

Gain access to the battery compartment cover. 

The new battery. 

The battery compartment and the cover. Don't forget to lubricate the gasket on the cover. 

The new battery in place. Check to make sure the battery works before you close up. 

Everything working.

Precista PRS-30

After 5 years, the Precista PRS-30 is finally available. What started out as a project in 2008 is now a reality, the Precista PRS-30 Bronze Watch. The watch will retail around USD 1,170.

The case is bronze, C6300 CuAl10Ni5Fe4 sourced from a Swiss supplier. The watch is 42 mm in diameter, 12 mm thin and has a 24 mm lug width. 

The watch features a dark brown/ charcoal sandwich dial. The sapphire crystal is 2.2 mm thick and has anti-reflective coating on the underside. 

The watch has a unique 12 pointed star crown. 

Stainless steel screw down case back. The watch is water resistant to 10 ATM.

The watch will be powered by the top grade ETA 2824-2.

The lume shot, SuperLuminova C3 coating on the sandwich dial and hands.

Precista PRS-68

The guys (Eddie) at Time Factors have indeed been busy. They will launching a number of models in the next couple of months with the PRS-30 being one of the most interesting model. 

The PRS-30 (prototype?). Yes, it is bronze.

Anyway, we are focusing on their latest launch, the PRS-68. The PRS-68 is a homage to a great diver watch launch over 40 years ago. Here is the picture of the PRS-68. Any guess?

Yes, it is a homage to the Seiko 6105.

Smiths PRS-68

Some early macro....

Some early attempts are macro photography. This is the movement fitted to the Timefactors Precista PRS 5. The movement is a Chinese made movement, the Seagull ST-19 chronograph movement. 

A column wheel movement.

But first another lume shot. This time it is the Precista PRS-10. This is the modern take by TimeFactors on the Precista G10/W10 watches issued to the British military. I do like the watch. However it has been sold in the recent streamlining exercise. 

Some Chinese love

Decided to take some pictures of my Precista PRS-5 which is powered by the Seagull ST-19. This is my only column wheel chronograph.

It has a nice finish and blue screws. Not sure if it is heat blue or chemical blue....

It is suppose to be based on the Venus 175 of the past. It is a 19 jewel movement.
