Something you don't see everyday

Just remembered that I have pictures of my friend's Rolex  Submariner reference 14060 (with the oxidised hands and dial), just not in the normal state we are used to. Here is something you don't get to see everyday.....

The watch in pieces.....

The heart of the watch. Note the patina....

A view of the case, bezel and case back. Even the crystal that have been removed. Ready for a spa treatment at RSC.

Closer view of the dial and hands (and attached movement).

Lost in transit....

Sigh, one of the issues with shifting house. Things gets lost in transit. One of the things (thing thus far) is this watch that the wife and kids like.....

As this watch is from one of their older collection, it was difficult to find. However a friend visiting Hong Kong manage to get one for me. Thanks. Much appreciated.

Verified, correct model reference....

Looks correct as well....

Love the Ice watch packaging....

Now just to collect the watch from him in mid June......

Patina?

One of the things that we as WIS or collectors (not all, I was told) seems to like is patina. Be it on the hour markers, hands or even on bronze watches. Anyway, recently I sent one of my friends Rolex Submariner 14060 for a service. The watch was just developing patina on the hour markers and hands. Looks nice (forgot to take a picture of the watch, but will do so when I collect it later).

So, what do Rolex think about patina? Well.......

Dial and hands, oxidation......

Lume shot

It has been some time since my last post. What with the shift and all (getting the phones and internet connection to work was a task in itself). Anyway, all is done and we are back.

Lume shot.... Love the blue lume.

The watch?

Rolex Submariner Date, reference 116610. As to why the lume of the some of the hour markers are not complete, the lume shot was with the watch in the Rolex transportation box. Anyway, nice watch. Sadly not mine..... :(

Longines Legend Diver

Some Longines Legend Diver love. A friend describe it as a timeless classic. To me? Best value for money reissue. Good brand, good history, great movement, great build quality, at a great price. What more can one ask for.....
