Watch list

I like looking and reading watch listing (other listings included). You know, lists like the 10 best watches in the world, the must have watches, etc. One recent list was very interesting, to me at least. Here is the list:

With regards to the list, in the Premium category, I can think of a few brands that should be on the Top 10 but not there. And there are brands that I figure to be Luxury but appears in Premium and vice versa. I guess we have to first understand what was the definition of Premium and Luxury as understood by the list maker. Since we don't have that..... Same goes for the Fashion and Entry brands.

I did find out that the classifications were based on the following criteria, product quality, design commitment, consumer value, consumer recognition, brand differentiation and marketing effectiveness, amongst others.

I guess lists of any type will always ruffle some feathers, and that is why I like to look at them. It gives me their point of view and sometimes an insight into what goes on out there.

Anyway, here is a list of how one company categorizes their products:

Prestige and Luxury Range

Breguet
Blancpain
Glashutte Original
Jaquet Droz
Leon Hatot
Tiffany & Co
Omega

High Range

Longines
Rado
Union Glashutte

Middle Range

Tissot
ck watch & jewelry
Balmain
Certina
Mido
Hamilton

Basic Range

Swatch
Flik Flak

An interesting list by itself.
