Watch shopping in Taipei 101

Well this is my first blog entry about watch shopping in Taiwan. So we will focus on the city main landmark, the Taipei 101. OK lets start.

On the lowest floor, we find SWATCH. The collection here is good and they have the full set of the new SWATCH Chronograph Automatic. They also have the Year of the Tiger SWATCH, which is the Chinese Zodiac for 2010. I believe it comes with a nice tiger soft toy. On this floor we also find the fashion brand ck.

Next we find a number of watch brands there are not in proper shops but in island like units along the walkways. The first is ORIS. The collection on sale is very good. They even have the new ORIS ProDiver Chronograph. This is a giant of a watch at 51 mm and is water resistant to 100ATM.

Then we find Longines. The collection available is not bad. They have most of the watches and represent a good cross section of what Longines have available. It was interesting to note that the Longines W.W.W. watch is sold out and according to the sales person, there is a wait list for the watch. I also found out that the black leather strap version is now available in Taiwan and cost a couple of thousand NTD less as compared to the brown crocodile leather version.

The last of the island watch shop is the Tag Heuer shop. Again the range on offer is good. There was a Tag Heuer Limited Edition Taipei 101 on sale. I believe the watch is part of the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1 series of watches.

Next is Dickson Watch & Jewellery. If I am not mistaken this shop is from Hong Kong. Anyway they carry a number of brands. Among the brands they carry are Rado, Chopard, de Grisogono, Panerai (sadly none of the new P.900X models available), Tudor, Rolex and Corum.

There was suppose to be 2 Omega boutiques in Taipei 101. I only found 1. It is on the 1st floor. The other was suppose to be on the 3rd floor. Anyway, being the Omega Boutique, the range on offer is extensive.

The other boutiques in Taipei 101:

Chanel.

IWC. The range is great. They even have the IWC Vintage Collection Platinum Set Jubilee Edition 1868 - 2008.

Jaeger Le-Coultre.

Bvlgari.

Carl F.Bucherer.

Cartier.

Chopard (next to AP, photograph below).

Georg Jensen.

Hermes (did not find it).

MontBlanc.

Piaget.

Boucheron.

Swarovski (did not find it).

Tiffany & Co (did not take photograph as battery ran out).

Van Cleef & Arpels (did not take photograph as battery ran out).

Audermars Piguet.

Here you can see the Taipei 101 Limited Edition Royal Oak Off-shore.

But here is the dream collection..... (or nightmare.....)

The other interesting shop is Cortina Watchshop. Cortina has done up the place as if it a collection of smaller boutique in a larger one. Each of the main brands have their own mini boutique. The brands are Concord, Harry Winston, Hublot, Chronoswiss, Zenith, Graham, Glashutte Original and Girard Perregaux. The other brands that Cortina carry are Nomos, Bell & Ross and Jaquet Droz amongst others.

And there you have, shopping 101 in Taipei 101.
