Magrette Regattare Moana Pacific PVD

Magrette of New Zealand is launching the Regattare Moana Pacific PVD watch. The watch will feature a black PVD coating on the case. However the interesting aspect of the watch is the use of New Zealand native Kauri under the see-through case back. The Ancient Kauri is the oldest workable wood, being over 45,000 years old. Additionally the Magrette logo is inlaid into the wood with paua shell.

The watch will feature the following specifications:

Functions: hours and minutes
Case: stainless steel PVD black, 44 mm diameter
Crystal: sapphire
Movement: Miyota Automatic 21 jewels caliber
Water resistant: 5 ATM

This watch is a limited edition run of 500 pieces. The watch is expected to retail at USD 365 plus USD 30 for shipping. The watch is currently on pre-order and this will end on the end of April.

The watch. I have to say that it looks interesting. I do like the strap.

The unique case back.

  1. Hi one horsepower,

Welcome to the blog. With regards to your question, I am not sure but I would guess it is due to wear and tear. Frequent use of the crown can cause the coating to wear out, maybe?

    Best regards,

    Ivan
