Stowa Flieger Baumuster B

Stowa will be launching a new Flieger watch this month. The watch, the Flieger Baumuster B was introduced in Basel this year. The watch will feature the B dial. Stowa has long had the Flieger A dial in the Airman. So it was great that Stowa has introduced the B dial.

According to the Stowa, only 47 pieces of the B dial Flieger were made in the 40s by Stowa. The original were 55 mm in diameter. The new watch will be 40 mm in diameter. The difference between the original 1940 watch and the current is the case and sweep second hand. The case has been updated to a more modern interpretation whilst the sweep second hand is unique in that the balance portion of the hand is diamond shaped and will 'fit inside' the hour hand. Just look at the photographs below.

The dial of the watch and the hands are 'more' accurate as the sterile dial features the luminous hour marker dots on the inner circle, no date, blue hands and the minute hand has the 'more' accurate design.

As with the Flieger A, the new watch will feature Stowa homemade German silver rotor. The basic specifications:

Functions: hours, minutes and seconds
Case: stainless steel, 40 mm diameter, 10.2 mm height, lug width 20 mm
Crystal: sapphire, front and back
Movement: ETA 2824-2 will German Silver rotor, COSC upgrade available
Water resistant: 5 ATM

The watch will be available soon on the soon to be revamped Stowa website (May) and will retail for EUR 630.

I would love to get this watch had I not just got the LACO version of the B dial Flieger. My LACO.
