CW C8 Regulator

I have always like the regulator watch but somehow never got one. Maybe the time is ripe for one. Christopher Ward has released its take on the regulator watch in the C8 Regulator. I have to say that it look good. Very military.

Introducing the Christopher Ward C8 Regulator. It is available in two finish, stainless steel and black PVD. I am liking the black PVD version. Pre-order is on going for a September delivery.

Stainless steel finish.

Black PVD finish.

As with any regulator watch, the focus is the minute hand which is centrally mounted. The hour is displayed via a sub dial at the 12 o'clock position while the seconds, via a sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. Christopher Ward have chosen to go with the Old Radium SuperLuminova finish on the hands and dial, giving the watch a vintage feel. Nice touch.

The watch will be powered by a modified Unitas 6498 hand wound movement.

The movement.

A closer view.

The watch will be fitted with an over sized diamond crown and vintage distressed leather strap. The watch will also feature the new Bader deployment clasp, a result of the collaboration between Christopher Ward and their Swiss partner Jorg Bader.

The watch comes in at 44mm and is 11 mm thin. It will be fitted with a sapphire crystal and feature a large transparent screw-down case back where the owner can enjoy the bespoke Unitas 6498 movement which has the Cote de Geneve finish. The watch is water resistant to 5 ATM and is priced from USD 1,500.
